Abstract
This chapter is a study of postdramatic theatre. It was written for a volume aimed at undergraduates, and the text takes into account that the concept and associated vocabulary is new and potentially unfamiliar to a Welsh-language readership. This is the first time a study of the concept has been published in the Welsh-language. The opening half of the chapter locates the postdramatic within a historical context before describing some of its major tenets. The latter half offers five case studies structured according to the five 'elements' of the postdramatic, as defined by Hans-Thies Lehmann (1999, trans. 2005).
