Abstract
This is the first book-length study of time and temporality in theatre and performance. It considers sources ranging from medieval and Renaissance theatre to contemporary performance - in addition to recent writings from physics, philosophy and psychology - to analyse ways that time can be presented, communicated and transformed in theatre, ways in which we experience time and how that experience can be modified and altered.
