Abstract
Over last few years, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) has gained a lot of attention, because it provides a new direction of software development, business agility and optimization of operating costs. Moreover, recent researches have demonstrated that SOA can address business network issues such as interoperability, scalability, heterogeneity, and decoupling of systems. The concept of SOA is to emphasize loosely coupled systems that exchanged self-contained messages. SOA separates functions into services and these services can communicate with each other. More importantly, application developers are able to add one or more services without knowing the services’ underlying implementations.
Therefore, this project has attempted to develop and implement a supply chain management application based on SOA in order to prove that SOA might be another new way in developing software in the future.
The various technologies that I used in this project are JSF, J2EE, SOAP, XML, WSDL, and Web Services In addition, some future directions for improvements also described at the end
